
Succinic Anhydride is an organic compound with the molecular formula C₄H₄O₃. It is the cyclic anhydride of succinic acid and contains a five-membered ring with two carbonyl groups. Succinic anhydride is primarily used as a chemical intermediate in the manufacture of polymers, polyester resins, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, dyes, coatings and surface-active agents. It is also used as an epoxy curing and cross-linking agent.
