Acetyl tetrapeptide-3 is a biomimetic peptide made up of four amino acids. It stimulates collagen and laminin production and supports hair-follicle anchoring & follicular matrix. It is widely used to protect hair from thinning and androgenetic alopecia by inhibiting 5-α-reductase activity (the enzyme converting testosterone to DHT).
It is synthesised by the acetylation of Tetrapeptide-3 through solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) technology, and it is widely added in hair serums, masks, thickening shampoos and conditioners.
