Acid Violet 19

FAQ's

Acid Violet 19 is mainly used as a biological staining dye in a histology and cytology laboratory. It is useful for the visualization of structures of muscle fibers, connective tissues, and other cellular components.

Acid Violet 19 is a synthetic acidic magenta dye belonging to the triarylmethane dye family. It is a sodium sulfonate derivative of fuchsine and shows a strong affinity for biological tissues and laboratory staining preparations.

Acid Violet 19 stains muscle fiber and cytoplasmic components, giving excellent contrast, which helps in distinguishing them from collagen and other connective tissue.

Acid Violet 19 is water-soluble because of the presence of sulfonate groups in its chemical structure. It dissolves easily in water to produce a colored solution and can be used in histological, cytological, and other biological staining procedures where it is necessary to use an aqueous preparation of the dye.

Acid Violet 19 gives a bright red to magenta color when used in staining procedures. This color distinguishes tissues and cells, so that they are more easily visible and examined under a microscope.
