Aluminium Sulfate

FAQ's

Aluminium sulfate’s applications are primarily used in water purification, wastewater treatment, paper production, textile dyeing, building materials, fire-fighting foams, battery technology, and solar cell research.

No. Although aluminium sulfate is sometimes referred to as papermaker’s alum, true alum generally refers to double sulfate salts such as potassium alum or ammonium alum.

Aluminium sulfate is better known as papermaker’s alum in the paper industry. But alum is more properly used in the case of double sulfate salts.

Aluminium sulphate is highly soluble in water, and is therefore a good coagulant and flocculant for water treatment processes.

Aluminium sulfate is used in water treatment chemicals, paper-making products, textile processing chemicals, construction materials, firefighting foams and some food processing formulations.

It acts as a coagulant and flocculant. It neutralizes the charge on suspended particles so that the impurities can form larger flocs which can then be removed by sedimentation and filtration.
