Azure C is a Fluorescent Dye. It is useful for fluorescence microscopy, bioimaging, and many applications in analytical laboratories where sensitive detection and visualization are required.

Azure C has been found to inhibit tau protein aggregation and to modulate the aggregation of Aβ42 oligomers, thus being useful in Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative studies. 

Azure C is a synthetic thiazine dye and organic chloride salt produced by oxidizing methylene blue. Its strong attraction to cellular structures makes it a common stain in the biological and histological applications.

Azure C is a relatively good metachromatic dye that is employed to stain mucins and various other specific components of tissues.
